Back For Gist As Buhari Becomes President...Highlight on new EFCC Chairman too

Hi FAM ,
This is personally from me to you and with love and apologies... I've had texts and calls as to why the blog got kinda dry as regards juicy gists and updates (by the way I'm typing in darkness without PHCN but I still gotta talk to you ) , These calls made me so guilty and almost incapable but the truth is I've been busy with the role  of iyalaje like you all call me .. Https://ww.tarahsells.com is not an easy project as well (hope you been there )  .

Back to the guilt matter , I couldn't just stand sharing inauthentic gist or happenings .. I'd rather be quiet than feed you all with bad frogs .. Na frog wey get egg I enjoy doling out (culled from a traditional adage) . But I'm sure those on the BBM portal dint miss me so much as there were small gists here and there .Add me up on 52F55064 for updates ...

Matter at Hand ..
I couldn't stay back , I couldn't resist the D day urge to update you with stuffs happening .its been 4hours 50 minutes into May 29 ( 4:50 am May 29 2015 )..Buhari is hia
..
I just wan prep you and to let you know I'm here all the way ...

There been gist as to how GEJ got emotional last night . Did you see that ? I mean I hope you got lucky with electricity and petrol to at least watch your own TV.

I been also hear feri feri of the incoming EFCC Chairman,  Colonel Hamid you go fear fear when you read this guy's profile . Read more about him in the next post .

Oh Lawd!!!!!  Change is here for real .. Let me even give you a bit about him ..you can get full details from next post but this man -
is a brave Bauchi Prince. He was a military Governor of Kaduna State and a diehard IBB boy who is reputed to have made the statement "I can follow IBB to war blindfolded" to show how much he believed in IBB as a general. But that didn't stop him from looking IBB in the face and telling him he was wrong on the case of the annulment of June 12 1993 elections

Is so good at this that immediately there were feelers that he will emerge the next EFCC Chairman, corrupt politicians have been on panic mode. (Okay  o ! In reminisce voice "wa fe Ku laleyi" to all the helter skelter runners) Days of reckoning fully loading...

A lot of you guys think Buhari is stern a d a disciplinarian but I hear our dear Buhari is joking compared to this man ... I love the sound of that though .. " The arrangers are here " is what keeps ringing in my head .... And I say to myself - Omotara the good days are here ...

Okay its getting early I go like sleep a few more minutes before Sunrise catchya In the clear morning !

With love  ,

UNIPORT Refuses To Release Jonathan’s Doctorate Details

The University of Port Harcourt has declined a Freedom of Information, FOI, request for the doctorate degree records of President Goodluck Jonathan.

In a response to the Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law, a Rivers State-based civil society organization, the university said a request for President Jonathan’s academic records did not fall within the provisions of the FOI law according to  Premium Times

“The Management of the University has carefully considered your request vis-a-vis the FOI Act,” the university stated in their letter dated 26th February, 2015, and signed by Eric Loveday Osuo Abonemi, the institution’s Legal Officer.

“It is my instructions to inform you that your request does not come within the relevant provisions of the FOI Act for its practicability or for the University to provide such details as requested.

“Details of the Ph.D Degree of President Goodluck Jonathan in the University of Port Harcourt cannot therefore be made available to you.”

The Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law had filed an FOI request, three weeks ago, to the university seeking relevant details of Mr. Jonathan’s doctorate qualifications.

The letter requested the following information relating to the president’s doctorate qualification, citing the provisions of Sections 2 and 4 of the FOI Act, 2011:

1. The title of the president’s doctorate dissertation

2. Year of registration as a doctorate candidate

3. Name of his doctorate supervisor(s)

4. Name of his external examiner(s)

5. Comments/reports of the external examiner of the dissertation/thesis

6. Photocopy of the dissertation/thesis

7. Date of graduation from the university

The organization said it was willing to bear any cost the university might incur in making photocopies of the requested documents and for posting them.

President Jonathan was admitted into the Department of Zoology (now renamed Animal and Environmental Biology), University of Port Harcourt, in 1977, where he graduated with Second Class Honours (Upper Division).

In 1985, Mr. Jonathan obtained a Master of Science degree in Hydrobiology and Fisheries, and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Zoology 10 years later.

Both degrees were also from the University of Port Harcourt.

Lately, Mr. Jonathan’s academic qualifications have come under increased scrutiny ahead of the forthcoming general elections. Critics have accused the president of failing to complete his doctorate programme.

In a response to an enquiry by Punch Newspaper in January, the university dismissed such claims as having “neither legs nor grounds to stand on”.

The university had also told any person or organization seeking additional information on Mr. Jonathan’s qualifications to contact the school authorities.

“We have absolutely nothing to hide as an institution that has a statutory mandate to advance the frontiers of knowledge,” William Wodi, the university’s Deputy Registrar (Information), had told the newspaper.

It is unclear why the university declined to release Mr. Jonathan’s academic qualifications to the civil society organization after giving that commitment.

Jiti Ogunye, a Lagos-based lawyer, said the president’s academic records ought to be freely available in the university and not be “opaque or hidden”.

“The FOI is applicable to the academic records of a public officer whose academic records are being requested by a Nigerian citizen or a nongovernmental organization duly registered in Nigeria with a view to promoting accountability and transparency in government,” Mr. Ogunye said.

“The academic records of the president are not the medical records of the president in which case a medical officer can say the FOI is exempted, or the records between a lawyer and his client which are covered by the confidentiality rule.”

WHAT THE FOI ACT SAYS

According to Section 14(1) of the FOI ACT, subject to subsection (2), a public institution must deny an application for information that contains personal information and information exempted under this subsection includes:

(a) files and personal information maintained with respect to clients, patients, residents, students, or other individuals receiving social, medical, educational, vocation, financial, supervisory or custodial care or services directly or indirectly from public institutions;…

(2) A public institution shall disclose any information that contains personal information if –

(a) the individual to whom it relates consents to the disclosure; or

(b) the information is publicly available

(3) Where disclosure of any information referred to in this section would be in the public interest, and if the public interest in the disclosure of such information clearly outweighs the protection of the privacy of the individual to whom such information relates, the public institution to whom request for disclosure is made shall disclose such information subject to Section 14(2) of this Act.

Mr. Ogunye said that an institution might attempt to hide under Section 14(1)(a) to decline disclosure of information.

“My argument is, this information is publicly available and ought to be disclosed. The president has said he obtained his Ph.D in that institution, so it’s publicly available,” Mr. Ogunye said.

“So why will an institution refuse to disclose an information that is publicly available? The university has acted wrongly and can be compelled by the suit of the non-governmental organization concerned to disclose the information.”

Aisha Mustapha - Silverbird Staff Stabbed To Death By Her Lover

At times, love can turn to hate, emotions can become violent. That was the pathetic story of the death of pretty Aishat Noble-Mustapha, a staff of Silverbird TV, who was reportedly stabbed to death by her boyfriend on Saturday 14th of March 2015, in Lagos.

The sad tale about her unfortunate death is that, she was said to be 3 months pregnant for her killer, at the time he snuffed life out of her.

According to gatherings by our source,  Aisha who has been having a running battling with her guy, over the claims of infidelity, drove from work to her Ogudu GRA home that fateful evening. Reports said she was ambushed by the 'devilish' boyfriend who’s name is yet to be made known.

From the cloak of darkness,he emerged to stab her severally, when she got down from the car to open the gate. And she was left in her own pool of blood. Aisha struggled for her dear life but lost too much blood before help came, unfortunately, Aisha didn’t make it to the hospital before she gave up the ghost.

Although, the man has been arrested by Ogudu Police Command, who have commenced investigations.

Many are now wondering loud, why a man could kill the woman carrying his baby, in cold blood.

Aisha, RIP!

APC PLANS TO RIG LAGOS GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION-PDP

Press Release -

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has been charged with grand plans to rig the 2015 polls in Lagos State.

Making this accusation in Lagos, the camp of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship Candidate for Lagos State, Mr. Jimi Agbaje, said it had unearthed plans to use the ad hoc staff, including teachers and civil staff, employed by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to swing the polls in its favour.

In a Press Statement released today, the Director of Media and Publicity to Mr. Jimi Agbaje, FELIX OBOAGWINA,

cited as proof the sack of two ad hoc staffers by INEC, on the excuse that they were preventing non-indigenes from collecting their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs)

It accused the APC government of getting the Executive Secretaries to compel teachers and civil servants in the local government to attend meetings in which party candidates and leaders directly campaigned.

The statement said such actions traduced the civil servants’ right to freedom of thought, conscience and Right to freedom from discrimination as enshrined in Chapter IV of the Nigerian Constitution.

“What the Lagos State Government is getting the Executive Secretaries to do is contemptible and is a blatant abuse of office,” he said.

The statement demanded that INEC should go beyond the dismissal of the registration officials, and prosecute them for colluding in the APC’s plan to disenfranchise non-indigenes and other voters opposed to the continuation of the current order.

INEC had exposed the dismissal in a press statement circulated among the media on Tuesday.

“Although INEC has washed its hands off the illicit conduct of the sacked ad hoc officials, we insist that the Commission must go beyond merely relieving those concerned of their jobs and must, in fact, make them face the law. They must be used as scapegoats to expose and discourage the shenanigans of APC,” Oboagwina said.

According to the statement, it was clear that the sacked ad hoc INEC officials were on the pay of Lagos APC, which realised that it could lose the vote of non-indigenes and had embarked on systematically disenfranchising them through getting unscrupulous officials to deprive them of PVCs.

It also charged APC with colluding with INEC officials to take PVCs from house to house for people they think were favourably disposed to voting for the ruling party in Lagos.

“How did well-known APC members illegally secure the PVCs of people that they took to their owners at home? That is a case for INEC in Lagos to answer,” Oboagwina said. “It is part of the grand scheme by APC to rig the coming elections.”

BAR MANAGER SETS EMPLOYEE ABLAZE FOR ALLEGEDLY STEALING N1,500

The Ogun State Police Command is presently searching for a bar manager, Mr. Bidemi Shittu, who allegedly poured petrol on his 13-year-old attendant, Ezekiel Emmanuel, and set him ablaze. It was gathered that the manager took the action because the teenager reportedly stole N1,500 from him.

The incident happened in the Akoka area of Ibafo, Ogun State, on Monday, February 9.

The runaway suspect, Bidemi, who is married with children, was the manager of Golden Fingers Bar in the area, while Emmanuel was one of his attendants. Bidemi, who had accused Emmanuel of theft on Sunday, allegedly tied the teenager’s hands and feet in a room in his bar till Monday, waiting for him to admit the offence. It was gathered that on Monday, at about 11.30pm, Bidemi brought Emmanuel out to the front of the bar, poured petrol on the boy and set fire on him.

Some residents, who were out at the time, rescued and rushed Emmanuel to a private hospital in the area where he was initially treated before he was referred to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, Lagos, the following day. The matter was reported to the Ibafo Police Division, and the policemen sealed off the bar.

However, it was gathered that the suspect, Bidemi, fled before he could be arrested.

Emmanuel’s uncle, Mr. Toyin Olayemi, said the boy was rejected by four different hospitals before he was eventually taken to LASUTH.

He said,
“Emmanuel’s father is not around. He went to his hometown in Ekiti because he fell ill. On Tuesday morning when they told me about Emmanuel. I rushed to the private hospital and I saw him on the bed, severely burnt from head to abdomen.
“He was working on part-time basis in the bar, although Bidemi did not pay him any salary. Emmanuel is also learning generator repair at a workshop. I was told that the manager accused him of stealing N1,500.
“Despite pleas from neighbours that they would repay him, he waited till everyone had gone to sleep and brought out the boy and burnt his body.
“The private hospital asked us to take him away the following day. We went to about four government hospitals which rejected him before we came to LASUTH.
“Since that Tuesday, they have not allowed us to see him. They said he was still under observation. The suspect too has run away. We learnt that a policeman in the Ibafo division tipped Bidemi off to evade arrest.”

The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Muyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the incident. He added that the police were intensifying efforts to arrest the suspect.
He said, “The suspect poured petrol on the boy for stealing, He maltreated him, tied his hands and feet, and set him on fire. The boy is still in the hospital and the suspect is presently at large.“But the police will arrest the suspect.
“This act is not only criminal, but also barbaric. We are intensifying efforts to get him, we will.”

In The Spirit Of Val :Man Marries Spiritual Wife In Ikoyi Registry

Confusion broke loose when a man in Ikoyi applied to the marriage registry to get married to a woman whom he allegedly happened to be a spiritual entity.

Apparently, the young man went to the marriage registry dressed up in suit and looking ready for the ceremony, but trouble started when the clerk asked him where the bride was.

His reply that his wife was standing beside him made the clerk look at him with such malicious disdain which was not unsuggestive of the fact that the young man was probably an escapee from one of the maximum security Psychiatric   Institutions in the Country.

When asked to explain, the young man replied that his wife was a spiritual being who was not visible to ordinary mortals, except those who who were exceptionally  righteous.

This reply irritated the clerk who saw it as an insult suggestive of his unrighteousness. When asked how he intended to consumate the proposed marriage with a spiritual woman whom he probably could not see, he expressed his doubts and said that where there is a will, there is a way, and he and his wife would work out an arrangement which would be beneficial to both the spiritual and physical worlds.

However, the young man’s application to get married to the spiritual wife was refused, as the practice was one which was unheard of and contrary to our system of law.

He was advised to proceed to a spiritual marriage registry to effect the marriage, especially as it would be within the jurisdiction of his wife’s government.

The aggrieved young man then proceeded to  the high court where he sought an injunction to compel the marriage registry to perform their lawful duty by approving the marriage.

He also sued them for breach of his fundamental right to freedom of association, as the registry were purportedly preventing him from having legal relations with his spiritual wife.

Laugh don tire me I beg.

EFCC Nabs Murtala Nyako’s Son, Abdul-Aziz

Two weeks after the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, declared former Adamawa State Governor, Murtala Nyako and his son, Abdul-Aziz, wanted, operatives of the anti- graft agency, Friday morning arrested the younger Nyako in Gombe, Gombe State.

A statement by the spokesperson of the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren, said he was immediately flown to Abuja, where he is currently being grilled by a crack team of detectives who had been working on the Adamawa investigation for several months.

Abdul-Aziz, who was declared wanted by the EFCC in the case of stealing, abuse of office and money laundering, is currently being interrogated over alleged illicit funds traced to companies in which he has interest.

Specifically, he is being asked to explain how over N15billion funds belonging to Adamawa State was allegedly laundered into the accounts of five companies said to owned by him- Blue Opal Nigeria Limited, Crust Energy Nigeria Limited, Blue Ribbon Multilinks Limited, Tower Assets Management Limited and Blue Ribbon Bureau De Change.

The funds was allegedly funnelled into the accounts of the companies from Adamawa state accounts domiciled in a new generation bank by the account officer who incidentally is the manager and an in-law to Ex-governor Nyako.

The EFCC said the manager claimed he transferred the funds through verbal instruction from the former governor for purposes that were not stated.

The commission said its investigations revealed that from 2007 to 2011, then Governor Nyako directed that all state-owned accounts domiciled in various banks be transferred to the new generation bank .

Abdul-Aziz’s company, Blue Opal, is said to own, among other investments in Nigeria, an estate in Abuja, while his father’s account officer owns several properties and investments scattered around Abuja, Yola and Kano.

#ChildAbuse! 14-Year-Old Raped By A 60-Year-Old Man. (See How It Happened)

I wonder why children don't tell when sexually abused! But I was able to get some facts on the reasons why they don't tell.

Victims try to cope with lingering and unexplainable feelings of shame and guilt at the abuse they have been forced to endure.

A victim will not tell because he or she will become a subject of pity, mockery or negative attention in the society.

That is exactly what happened to Muji (not real name) of 14-year-old who was sexually abused and raped by a 60-year-old bachelor - Segun Benson,

Segun Benson has been accused of raping a 14-year-old primary school pupil in Agege.

Segun, the only surviving child of his mother who has refused to be married, was said to have lured the girl into his room with N50 where he forcefully had a canal knowledge of her.

Narrating her gory experience, the victim said, “I am in primary six. On Friday, he gave me N50 to buy sweet for myself. He then asked me to caress his private parts. When I told him I would tell my daddy, he said I should not go home.

“He took me to his house around Railway Line where he raped me. I was there from 3pm till around 7pm. I started bleeding from his house and when I got home the blood did not stop. But I kept it secret until Saturday when people saw it.”

The victim’s mother, Taibat narrated how she found out.

“I have seven kids and she is the third child. I was sleeping when people called me that my daughter had been raped. I have never met the man before though he lives on the street. The government should take over the case and do what is right.”

A resident who raised the alarm when she saw the girl bleeding added her side of the story, “I saw her writhing in pain in a bathroom. She said she wanted to defecate, but I saw blood coming out of her private parts. “I raised the alarm and when other people arrived at the scene, she said it was Segun that raped her.”

A relative, Okunloye Kehinde, said the victim’s private parts had been damaged. “I got a call around 2pm that fateful Saturday. When I got there, I saw a crowd of people around her. I saw a container filled with blood. Even her clothes were drenched in blood.”

But the accused' mother was seen pleading for help. She said Segun is her only surviving child.

“Segun is my only child. I had four other children and they are all dead. He is the reason for my living. I don’t know why he did what he did.

“Each time I tried to get him a wife, he refused and told me he was old enough to look for a woman for himself. He said that many times without getting a wife. Please help me because he’s my hope.”

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, Kenneth Nwosu, said the case had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Yaba.

I hope earnestly that Lagos State Government's Sex Offender list will function like what is obtainable in other parts of the world.

#2015NigeriaDecides: ON STV: VIOLENCE FOR VIOLENCE AS ASARI DOKUBO SPITS FIRE

Former militant leader, Asari Dokubo says he and other Niger Delta militants will match the North violence for violence before, during and after the 2015 general election.

Asari who spoke on Tuesday  on STV breakfast show in Nigeria said over the years the Northern part of the country have taken pride at unleashing mayhem and killing innocent souls after losing elections.

According to him, the insurgency in the North is not as a result of poverty but man induced.

He denied the allegation made by former Head of State Olusegun Obasanjo (whom he accused of sleeping with many women including his daughter inlaw) of not telling the truth when he accused him of being given licenses to import arms to the country.

Asari ended by saying that President Goodluck Jonathan is the best President Nigeria ever produced based on his performance so far despite the setbacks from those who didn't wish Nigeria well..

He accused the North of desperately seeking for power which was why they killed a duly elected Southern President , Moshood Abiola..

BON.,LINDA IKEJI's WARPED UNDERSTANDING OF ENGLISH, AND GOV. AMAECHI. (video)

On Friday 17th of October 2014, Popular Gossip blogger Linda Ikeji posted a story where she reported that Governor Amaechi of Rivers state made insultive remarks about Nollywood artistes to their faces at the just concluded BON Awards 2014.

In her post titled “Gov Rotimi Amaechi Insults Nollywood Practitioners To Their Faces, Says They Are Products Of Circumstances’, Linda Ikeji said Governor Ameachi during his speech at the award after he gave veteran actress Liz Benson a Lifetime Achievement Award, said that people in Nollywood are products of circumstances/necessity. He said that the only reason they are in Nollywood is because they couldn’t find other jobs, that if they had, they won’t be actors. Rotimi said these actors studied sciences, law, medicine etc but because they couldn’t find jobs, they embraced Nollywood.

Continuing, she said “Governor Rotimi also put two veteran actresses on blast. He told the crowd that he gives Joke Silva and Kate Henshaw bags of money whenever they come to Rivers state. And then claimed he was the one who encouraged Kate Henshaw to go into politics.

Like that wasn’t enough, Governor Amaechi then said he went into politics for money”.

Meanwhile, BON Awards organizers have responded to Linda Ikeji’s publication describing it as pure falsehoold and malicious content.

Below is their response:
Our attention has been drawn to a report on the Linda Ikeji Blog wherein she purported that Governor Rotimi Amaechi insulted Nollywood practitioners to their faces and called them products of circumstances at the Best of Nollywood Awards which held inside the banquet hall of the Government House, Port Harcourt, Rivers State on Thursday, October 16th 2014. While we consider the report malicious, mediocre and outright falsehood on which the blogger thrives, it is expedient to however set the record straight.

At no point did Governor Amaechi insult Nollywood practitioners. Instead, he commended them for growing the industry into a multi billion naira industry without any form of institutional or government support.

Nollywood, he says, now employs hundreds of thousands of Nigerian youths who, despite their qualifications, may have remained jobless because of the unemployment challenge in Nigeria which has led to a situation whereby graduates of medicine, law and other such disciplines end up in Nollywood. At that point, popular entertainer, Okey Bakassi, interrupted the governor, saying he is an agricultural engineering graduate of the Rivers State University of Science and Technology, which threw the whole hall into laughter.

The Governor then recalled that at the 40th birthday party of Kate Henshaw a while back, Basorge Tariah Jnr reminded her how they used to slap the streets in search of jobs and that it was Nollywood that rescued them. Governor Amaechi also cited the example of the banking industry which has become a dumping ground of sort for graduates of different disciplines that are not even remotely related to the banking profession.

It does not beggar rational understanding, except that the blogger may not be so conditioned, therefore, that this allusion is a thumbs up for the pioneers of Nollywood, not an insult as she inanely interpreted it. More so, at no point did the Governor say he gives Kate Henshaw money. He did, however, say that the state has contracted Mrs Joke Jacobs to turn Chinua Achebe’s political satire, A Man of the People, into a movie because of its inherent, timeless social message.

After his speech, an excited Patience Ozokwor re-invited the Governor to the stage to co-present the Movie of The Year award. We wonder if the practitioners did indeed feel insulted, the Governor would still receive a standing ovation for stating that after his term in office expires, he would devote the next couple of years to reading and research and that one of the research topics he has chosen is the dynamism and evolution of Nollywood.
Watch The video of his full speech below
Watch "governor's full speech_1.3gp" on YouTube
governor's full speech_1.3gp: http://youtu.be/QUbPz_BwINk

It is noteworthy to mention that despite starting behind schedule, Governor Amaechi sat through the awards which lasted over three hours.

We therefore want discerning Nigerians to discountenance this ill-intentioned report as it is not only the product of warped reasoning and deliberate misinterpretation, it is most uncharitable to Governor Amaechi and demeaning to the Nollywood stars and stakeholders that were at the event.

Tarahtalks:
I really can't say what the plight is here @lindaikeji 's account of the event but the whole twist don't seem innocent to me. Asides trying to get catchy headlines out there which every blogger or writer does, all the konakona quoting no be am at all and I think amends should be made from the Linda ikeji's quarters .. #okTainsBye

NURTW Chairman shot dead after beating Ekiti judge with Fayose

The former chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Ekiti state, Mr. Omolafe Aderiye has been shot dead.

Residents told SaharaReporters late evening that Aderiye was killed by unknown gunmen at Ijigbo area in Ado Ekiti.

Aderiye was on his way home when the gunmen numbering about four accosted and shot him at close range.

Aderiye, a staunch supporter of governor-elect, Ayodele Fayose was part of the thugs that Fayose took to court to attack a state high court judge on Thursday morning.

The alleged thugs attacked Justice John Adeyeye, beating him up and ripping his clothes for being allegedly rude to Fayose. Fayose, first slapped the judge and then ordered his thugs to beat him further.

Shot Dead: Omolafe Aderiye killed after a judge was beat up in Ekiti State

The action of Fayose and his thugs triggered some pandemonium in the court, with judicial workers and others running into safety. As a result, the sitting of the Ekiti State Governorship Election petition Tribunal could not hold.

The action of Fayose and his thugs have led to the closure of all courts in protest. In a statement signed by the Chief Registrar, Obafemi Fasanmi, the state Chief Judge, A. Daramola, ordered all state courts to remain closed until adequate security measures are in place.

“The chief judge has noted with increasing concern the spate of attacks perpetrated by political thugs and their persistent presence in the premises of the high court Ado Ekiti in the past few days”.

Cameroon Military Announces The Killing Of Boko Haram Leader Abubakar Shekau

In a rare public show by the Cameroon army, photos of the Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau were made public alongside a statement claiming he was killed during a cross border raid deep inside Nigeria by the Cameroon military.
